FENTRESS COUNTY MEETINGS

  • The Fentress County Opioid Abatement Committee will meet on Monday March 18, 2024, at 4:30 PM.  The meeting will be held at the Historic Fentress County Courthouse in the ECD conference room. 

  • The Fentress County Commission will meet on Monday March 18, 2024, at 6:00 PM.  The meeting will be held at the Historic Fentress County Courthouse in the courtroom.  A copy of the Fentress County Commission AGENDA will be available on the Friday before the Monday Meeting in the County Executive’s Office.

  • The Fentress County Budget Committee will meet on Monday March 25, at 5:00 PM. The meeting will be held at the Historic Fentress County Courthouse in the ECD conference room. The topic of discussion will be  Budgets for Year 2024/2025. 

  • The Fentress County Planning Committee will meet on April 26th, at noon.

CLARKRANGE HIGH SCHOOL ALUMNI ASSOCIATION BANQUET

HOLY WEEK 2024

  • Holy week will be held March 25th-29th at Jamestown Methodist Church. The address is 102 East Church Street. The churches will be Jamestown Methodist, Faith Tabernacle, Highlands, Allardt First Presbyterian, and Alive in the Spirit. Services will be at 12:00 p.m. with lunch following at 12:30. WORLD PIG CHAMPIONSHIP

  • This Saturday, February 24th, is the World Pig Championship, hosted at the York Country Store in Fentress County. The game of pig is a homegrown card game from the Upper Cumberland! The Championship begins at high noon, and if you just want to learn the game, show up and be taught by the best. 

Fentress County E-911 Board

  • The regular bi-monthly meeting of the Fentress County E-911 Board of Directors will be held on Monday, February 26th at 5:30 pm at the 911 Center located at 116 Justice Center Dr.

PROPERTY TAXES DUE

  • February 29th is the final date to pay property Tax in Fentress County. Pay at the Trustees office in the Historic Courthouse during the hours of Monday-Friday, 8am to 4pm. On Saturday February 24th, the Trustees office will be open from 8am-12pm. Questions can be called in at 931 879 7717.

  • The Tennessee Highway Patrol will be conducting Sobriety Roadside Safety Checkpoints starting on March 10, 2024 through March 17, 2024 in Fentress County on US Highway 127N @ Highway 200.

Impaired driving is a serious crime that kills more than 16,000 people and injures 305,000 others every year in the United States. Troopers will evaluate drivers for signs of alcohol or drug impairment. Troopers will target those who operate a vehicle while impaired and take corrective actions for other violations observed while ensuring the protection of all motorists.

Join us for a Mobile Pantry in Fentress County at South Fentress Park – Clarkrange on Tuesday, February 20th from 10 a.m – 12 p.m. CST (or until all allotted food has been given out). The address is 6233 S York Hwy, Clarkrange. This distribution is always the 3rd Tuesday of the month and is listed in Central Standard Time.

  • The Mobile Pantry is a recurring monthly pantry on wheels that neighbors can count on for fresh, nutritious food distributed in each of our counties. The goal of the Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee’s Mobile Pantry program is to make access to Food Bank services more convenient by reaching individuals at risk of hunger in their own communities. Anyone is welcome to attend any Mobile Pantry, and we do not require you to bring anything with you.

Red Cross Blood Drive TODAY

  • Join the local Red Cross chapter at First Baptist Church in  Jamestown anytime between 12 noon and 6pm to donate blood. Classes on Tuesday, July 11, from 10 a.m. until noon at the Upper Cumberland Development District (UCDD) office located at 1104 England Drive in Cookeville. Monday, July 24, from 10 a.m. until noon at the Millard Oakley Library located at 107 E. Main Street in Livingston; and on Wednesday, July 26, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the White County Library located at 11 N. Church Street in Sparta.

Each class will consist of training on Parts A, B, C & D, as well as Medigap policies and ways to prevent Medicare fraud. Registration for each class is required. To register, please call 931-423-4150.

Friday , April 28th  at South Fentress Park at 9:A.M. The District Attorney’s office will be hosting the 3rd Annual Walk for Victims across the Eighth Judicial District during National Crime Victims’ Rights Week, April 24th- 28.

The National Day of Prayer gathering will be at noon on Thursday May 4th at the Fentress County Courthouse.

Union bank will again sponsor its Annual Community Art Show. It will be held at the bank on Friday, May 5th from 9-5:00 pm. Anyone who would like to display their art should call 931-879-9375 or 931- 239-1105. Exhibitors should 18 or older. The art won’t be judged, just enjoyed. Art should be brought to the bank on Thursday, May 4 from 2-4:00 pm . It needs to be picked up on Monday between 9:00 am and 12:00.

The Fentress County Regional Planning Commission will have a public hearing scheduled for Friday, May 19, 2023 at the Fentress County Courthouse for the purpose of receiving public comment regarding the following: The removal of Buck Lane from the county road list.  The public hearing will begin at Noon in the Economic and Community Development Room on the 2nd floor.  Community Choir Concerts on Sunday and Monday May 7th and 8th

The Community Choir will present their final concerts under the direction of Mr. David Chambers on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. and Monday at 7:00 p.m. Both concerts will take place in the Allardt Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall. Everyone is invited to come out and thank David for his dedication to the choir for over thirty years. The Fentress County Budget Committee meeting scheduled for Today HAS BEEN CANCELLED.

 

The Allardt City Council will have a recessed meeting for the second reading of the Fiscal Year 2024 Budget TODAY, June 15th, at 3:30 pm.

 

The Fentress County JECDB will meet on Friday June 16, at 11:00 AM.  at the Fentress County Courthouse in the ECD conference room.  

 

The Fentress County Planning Commission will meet on Friday June 16, at NOON. held at the Fentress County Courthouse in the ECD conference room.

 

The Fentress County Courthouse, The City of Jamestown, The Fentress County Senior Center, The Fentress County Solid Waste Office & Recycling and Fentress County Convenient Centers will be CLOSED on Monday June 19, and the Allardt City Hall will be closed for Juneteenth.
